TriMac Engineering redesigned the original cast steel rod ends—part of a turbine actuating mechanism—which were no longer fit for service, as fabricated weldments. The new design preserved all critical dimensions and ensured sufficient strength for the application. By significantly improving manufacturability, the parts could be produced by local fabricators, reducing lead times and eliminating the higher costs associated with sourcing custom castings from out of province.
